Advisory Board


The Global Creative Industries Advisory Board draws expertise from the education sector and various industries to provide advice and support to the academic and professional development and maintenance of the Global Creative Industries programme under the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Arts, The University of Hong Kong. It serves as a major platform for the exchange between the programme and industry to enhance the integration among higher education, creativity and entrepreneurship in Hong Kong.

Terms of reference

- To assist the Programme Director and the administration team of the programme in formulating plans and strategies to achieve the stated vision and goal of the programme;
- To advise on a wide range of issues related to the development of the programme including research activities, curriculum development and academic standards;
- To continually review and assess the content and orientation of the programme to ensure that they meet the needs of industry and society;
- To support initiatives and activities contributing to the interaction and connection between the programme and industry and between the programme and the community;
- To foster dialogues on creative ideas in the public arena to enhance the programme’s public engagement and its local and global profile.


Membership
Membership of the Board shall include:

1) Head, School of Modern Languages and Cultures, The University of Hong Kong as the Chairperson;
2) Programme Director of the Global Creative Industries, School of Modern Languages and Cultures, The University of Hong Kong as the Convener;
3) Associate Dean (Teaching & Learning), Faculty of Arts, The University of Hong Kong as an Ex-officio Member;
4) Up to ten professorial staff appointed by the School Head as Internal Members;
5) Up to twenty people nominated by the Programme Director of the Global Creative Industries as External Members.
Members are appointed on a four-year renewable term. The Board shall normally meet once in an academic year. The Board might meet more frequently to discuss specific issues.
